Welcome to my page.
My love for photography began when I was five. My parents were passionate photographers, and our weekends were spent exploring the beautiful Black Hills, Spearfish Canyon was a favorite place. We captured anything that inspired us. My dad was studying photography at Black Hills State, and my very first camera was a homemade pinhole camera made from a Quaker Oats container. After each photo, we headed straight to the darkroom in our basement to develop the images.
As I grew, my camera was never far from me. There isn’t a stage of my life without photos — each one brings clarity, preserves memories, and tells my story for my kids and grandkids. They can all confirm the countless pictures documenting every moment, every holiday, every golden moment.
My dad later taught college photography and photographed for the Pioneer Times, earning awards for his work. Even in retirement, photography remains one of his greatest passions. My Mom continues to love taking pictures and is my greatest motivator in the photography world. My little sister landed a career in graphic design/advertising utilizing her passed down skills. Photography is kind of a BIG DEAL in our family!
I’ve come a long way from that pinhole camera. Over the years I’ve used everything from a Barbie camera to a Canon point‑and‑shoot, an old Kodak SLR, and now my Canon Rebel, which rarely leaves my side. I bought cameras for two of my granddaughters when they turned five — the perfect age to begin.
My husband and I still enjoy drives through the Black Hills, the place we proudly call home. My quiet moments are spent watching wildlife wander by or waiting for the sun to paint the sky at sunrise or sunset. Photography, for me, isn’t about sales — it’s a God‑given gift, and I simply love sharing what I see with others.
